New methods of teaching
Orientated on the concept of Heinz Klippert (Germany)
Sage es mir, und ich werde es vergessen,
erkläre es mir und ich werde es behalten,
lass es mich tun, und ich werde es verstehen.
Lao-Tse
Tell me and I will forget,
explain me and I will remember,
let me do and I will understand.
Lao-Tse
Every school wishes bright and competent Alumni. But school education should be more- produce emancipated, self-employed, fit in communication, creative and self-confident young students, who are trusting in their own skills and are used to self-working.
The “PSD-Modell” was created by Dr. Heinz Klippert, a German Diploma-Economic, who is since 1977 a lecture at the teacher training centre of the protestant church in Rheinland-Pfalz. “PSD” stands for Pedagogical School Development and includes a modern understanding of education. In numerous publications he describes the educational process of getting qualifications for life (key qualifications).
The new house of learning
The aim of teaching is to get the four key qualifications, which you can find in the roof of the house of learning. On one hand there is the competence of the subject (knowledge of the subject, ability of criticize, judge and solve problems). On the other hand you can find the methodical competence, which includes the elementary techniques of learning and working. The third key qualification is called social competence. That means the ability of successful communication and argumentation, additional the readiness and ability of constructive teamwork. And at least the students need personal competence like self-confidence and self-employed, self-initiative and the strength to hold out working phases.
In his first educational way Dr. Heinz Klippert became an engine fitter. Even in the second way he absolved a teacher training. That’s why he knows the requirements of the business life and understood that our school system did not prepare the students for the life „outside”.
